The Galerie am Markt
The Kunsthalle Würth

Tradition and modern times meet everywhere in Schwäbisch Hall: not only in architecture but also in the arts. With the Kunst im öffentlichen Raum, many contemporary sculptures and the historic old city merge in Hall to form a harmonic unity.

In this ambience, the Galerie am Markt has found its place and displays internationally recognised contemporary art since 1976. Alternating exhibitions, lectures, discussions with the artists and performances present the art of today and put it up for discussion. An extensive collection of modern art was put together through purchases. The formerly municipal gallery is operated by the art association since 2002.

The Kunsthalle Würth, a private gallery maintained by Adolf Würth GmbH & Co.KG of Künzelsau, sees itself as a cosmopolitan buildig, offering a richly varied programme. It is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6p.m. Its exhibition programme includes presentations of modern classics, as well as the work of internationally established contemporary artists and - from time to time - newer, more innovative art. The Kunsthalle Würth is an annexe of the Museum Würth in Künzelsau, which was opened in 1991, and one of its main tasks is to make modern and contemporary art accessible to the general public. In addition to guided tours for the public, it offers sucht things as guided visits for children and families, lectures, exhibitions focussing on individual works, and films on the subjects being featured. As with the Museum Würth, the exhibition policy is charachterised by a mixture of special exhibitions and presentations of works from the collection.
