Gerhards Puppet Theatre

Theater im Schafstall, Im Lindach 9
Karin and Wolfgang Gerhards
Tickets and information: 0791 48536

This puppet theatre is a jewel! Founded in 1925 in Wuppertal, Gerhards' Puppets settled in Schwäbisch Hall in 1943.

The Robber Hotzenplotz, The Little Witch, Snow White, The Thwarting of Baron Bolligrew: these and many other famous characters from German fairy tales and child literature can be met here.

The Theater im Schafstall, close to the town park and the railway station, is one of the largest stages of its kind in Germany, hosting six professional puppet players. The stagings are very sophisticated and demanding.

Beside many stagings for children and families, the theatre also offers the 'Puppet Faust of Schwäbisch Hall' for adults.

The smart boy Jim Button has become 50 years old in 2010. Schwäbisch Hall celebrated his birthday! Gerhards puppets performed 'Jim Button and Lukas the Engine Driver' as well as the sequel 'Jim Button and the Wild 13'.
