Classical and church music

Practise makes perfect: The town's music school, founded in 1970, enjoys a very high reputation because of its excellent teachers and high-grade equipment. It is referring to many successful graduates and organising public recitals and concerts, p. e. in its own new location in the House of Education and in many other venues.

Music in Saint Michael's church is at the pole position of musical life. It is looking back to an ancient tradition that produces many great concerts till today, thanks to the great activities of the couple of church musicians, Ursl Belz-Enssle and Kurt Enssle.

Beside Saint Michael's church, the historical New Building is the largest concert hall of the town, providing more than 600 seats. The Konzertgemeinde association, founded in 1960, has been organising there about seven highly appreciated concert evenings per year.

The Academy of Advanced Training for Teachers organises very substantial in-house concerts in the historical Imperial Hall on Comburg castle.

The Hohenlohe Summer of Culture is a music festival that has been taking place every year in castles and other exciting places of the region, including Comburg castle in Schwäbisch Hall.

The Bagpiper Days including its workshops (on Comburg castle) and a public concert are on schedule every February.

The friend's association Concerts in the Sonnenhof has been organising a series of classical and marginal music since 1988 - eight concerts per season, performed by excellent and famous ensembles and soloists. Its venue is the Arche im Sonnenhof concert hall (Sudetenweg 92) which has excellent acoustics. The annual New Year's Eve concert is the most popular performance there.

The company, Piano-Fischer, has been organising on a regular basis the 'Friday Concerts' by students of the Stuttgart Music Academy in its beautiful salesroom at Untere Herrngasse 5.

Hall's symphony orchestra was founded by instrumental teachers, school and amateur musicians, students and the conductor Benjamin Lack in 2005. The musicians are aiming at rehearsing and performing symphonic works with joy, passion and intensity. The concerts are regularly attracting a fascinated audience.
